Career Clinic 2 – Seizing Opportunities / Making yourself seen

Are you able to see and fully capitalizing on the opportunities in front of you? Early career researchers often get too involved in the routine that is navigating their world of research. In doing so, they lose sight of their goals and the chance to seek opportunities at the right time for potential career transitions and/or progression. However, it doesn’t always have to be this difficult.

In this session, attendees will have the opportunity to hear and learn from speakers from diverse fields who made unconventional career choices and rose to greater heights in their respective careers. From being seen to being heard, the speakers will discuss the importance of focusing on the bigger picture by taking risks, pursuing one’s passion, doing what feels right and developing a clear vision of where one wants to be. From discussing collaboration skills to building new connections and networks, you will also hear about ways to discover new career prospects, to seek an opportunity at the right place and the right time and finally, to make that leap of faith. Join us for this exciting session on seeking to seizing!
