Dr Serena Tan supports postgraduate students from FoS, SSHSPH, YLLSoM and Duke-NUS. She previously worked as a Patents Examiner for more than 5 years at the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, where she performed search and examination on more than 100 different patent applications from chemistry, pharmaceuticals and material science sectors. Her achievements as a Patents Examiner includes being part of a project commissioned by the NRF to identify high-growth areas, and published the Singapore Patent Landscape Report 2016.
Prior to IPOS, Dr Serena Tan pursued and obtained her PhD in Electrochemistry at NTU in 2014. During her postgraduate programme, she was a Chief Teaching Assistant for undergraduate lab modules and was a mentor to undergraduates for their research projects.
